Traffic Survey Conducted by RKU Students

Traffic problems in these days have become very common and are largely seen in most of the metropolitans and are causing chaos in daily life of the commuters. The reasons for traffic problems are many, but the traffic problems can only be solved when remedies originate both from user and demand supplier side.

As a part of the co-curricular activity to make aware the students about the traffic problems of their own city traffic surveys such as Traffic Volume Count (TVC) and Turning Movement Count (TMC) were conducted at major road stretches and major traffic junctions of Rajkot city on 29 March 2019 with the support of Rajkot City Traffic Police. Student estimated the morning peak hour traffic in between 9.00 hr. to 12.00 hr. and understood the capacities of the road on which large magnitude of traffic ply during each peak hours.
